The tread - R07 FROSTER 240S (Winter tyre)
WINTER TYRE:
Rubena/Mitas winter tyres offer the highest quality of spikes. The carbide tips in an aluminium body ensure the lowest possible weight and the highest wear resistance. The spikes can last several thousands of kilometres. The tips get gently abraded and slightly pushed into the tread knobs while riding but this has no influence on either the riding comfort or the spike performance. It is recommended that new tyres are allowed a 40-50km “bedding in“ period in order to allow the spikes to settle in their housings. No heavy braking or aggressive riding should be performed during this time.
The effectivness of spikes depends on their total number and allocation in the tread pattern. Generally, the best performance can be achived on packed snow and frozen tarmac. On the contraty, in deep snow or on cobblestones the effect is minimal. The performance of studded tyres is significantly influenced by the nflation pressure. Higher pressure reduces the noise when riding on hard surfaces whilst lower pressures increase the effectivness of the spikes. Performance and adhesion limits of winter tyres should be approached with caution. No recommendations or descriptions can advise on these boundaries. The use of studded bicycle winters is not limited by legislation.

RUBENA/MITAS R07 FROSTER:
Rubena/Mitas R07 Froster has a 240 spikes.
An all-round winter pattern with studs and sipes. The asymmetric tread design ensures optimal stud allocation in the track. The four-row-spiked version gives maximum performance.

ANTIPUNCTURE SYSTEM (APS):
A band of a special rubber placed between the tread and the carcass decreases the possibility of having a puncture (high structural strength and hardness). It increases the rigidity and strength of the tyre crown, and decreases the tyre drag while maintaining the adhesive force.

REFLEX STRIPE (RS):
Excellent parameters of reflective strip warranty high quality of the reflective light during dusk and dawn, during night, during fog and when raining for the whole service life of the bicycle tyre. Rubena/Mitas bicycle tyres with the reflective strip can use the world-wide valid quality certificate E4 88R-002058, which ensures the quality of the tyre production according to the stated standards and parameters . A reflective strip on the tyre sidewall – a distinctive safety and aesthetic element increasing the utility value of the product.
